Getting Started

Lots of people ask “how do I get started with CrossFit?” and I always tell them you have taken the first step by inquiring, another common question I get from individuals is “Do I have to be in shape to do it?” The answer is you start where you are, there are many different options in getting your foot on the mat at Insight Training Kenora/ CrossFit Core KTown. You don’t have to be an elite athlete to start or everyone in CrossFit would be waiting to start CrossFit. You get there by walking onto the mat and working your hardest day in and day out modifying and challenging your capacity a little each day.

We have a terrific Fundamentals Program which will allow you to go through the more commonly used movements in classes with a coach so you feel a bit more comfortable heading into a class.

We also have open gym time which can be used to modify workouts and do skill work before entering into the class setting.

Best way to break into CrossFit is to try it out so come in for a visit and check out the facility or contact me through Facebook, Email, or Phone and we can figure out what works best for you.

What To Bring:

  • Comfy clothes to workout in be it shorts/ tights whatever you want really. We do go outside on occasion so it is good to be prepared for either inside or outside or both, which includes shoes that you can run, jump, skip, and lift in.
  • A Water Bottle
  • A Towel (personal preference)
  • Tape, Wrist wraps (also personal preference)
  • Anything else you need to workout in
